Friendly neighborhood Schneiderman!

The title of my blog is completely necessary. What happens when you have two awesome goalies who allow for two back-to-back shutouts? Well ladies and gentleman, you have the Vancouver Canucks.

On Wednesday night, the Canucks faced off at Rogers Arena against the Colorado Avalanche and ended in a 1-0 win. That's two shutouts in a row - a first in our franchise history. No big deal.

Chris Higgins scored the only goal of the night in the first period, soaring the puck past Av's goalie, Semyon Varlamov. By the way, this was a short-handed goal. I think Higgins just plays better against the Avalanche. Considering the two goals he scored last Saturday against them - I think it's safe to say that Higgy has a way with Colorado.

But it seems goaltender Cory Schneider also had a way with Colorado.

He made an incredible 43 saves! Nothing gets past the Schneiderman...

Of course the media questioned Schneider about who will start for the playoffs. This was his humble response, "Lou's played great the last three games, not to mention the entire year basically, so I think clearly he's the guy that's going to start too and if it's necessary for me to hop in at some point, so be it. I'm not worried about what's going to happen in two weeks."

Play in the now. Well spoken, Cory.

In my opinion, I don't think this is something us Vancouverites should really question. We have two wicked goalies. Luongo has been top notch, and Schneider is right there behind him. Vancouver struck gold with goal tending. Just sayin'.

Our boys suit up against the Dallas Stars tonight - puck drop is at 7:00 PM. The Stars are at the top of their division with 89 points, while our boys have clenched the Western Division with a whopping 103 points.

Regardless, it'll be a good game since every game counts for something and I'm sure the Stars will want to prove that tonight.

Much love,
Cryssy Canuck
